League Two - Bournemouth try to hang on to Howe

Bournemouth's new board of directors have made securing the future of manager Eddie Howe one of their top priorities.

The Murry group, headed by Eddie Mitchell and made up of Neill Blake, Jeff Mostyn, Steve Sly and Adam Murry, assumed control of the League Two club on Tuesday.

The Cherries overcame a 17 point deduction last season, thanks largely to the astute leadership of rookie manager Howe.

And Blake, who is the club's new Director of Operations, is keen to tie the 31-year-old to a new deal at Dean Court.

"Securing Eddie is potentially one of the biggest tasks we have now," Blake told Bournemouth's official website. "We are close to agreeing terms and ensuring he is here for a long term will go a long way to stabilising the club."

  1. Nice to see an english Manager wanted for his man­ management skills. Bournemouth should rename themselves­ as the PHEONIX WITH SO MANY NEW CONTROLLERS!! Eddie­ Howe should give it a go and he will be rewarded by the­ continued support of the players and supporters. Lets­ hope they fulfill they're potential and go up next­ season. They deserve to.

  3. dear poor shunty who made the biggest turn around for­ us last year eddie howe got fletch back to do a job and­ that was to keep us up and that is what he did stop­ getting at a player who has done nothing but fight for­ our club his whole career
