Celtic look set to lose out on Nancy striker Marc-Antoine Fortune to Hull.
Tony Mowbray was reportedly keen to make the 27-year-old his first signing but the player is likely to opt for the Barclays Premier League outfit instead.
Nancy sporting director Nicolas Holveck said: "He has had permission to speak to clubs but the most advanced discussions, and the team that is very close to signing him, is Hull City."
He added: "It's highly possible a deal will be agreed over the weekend and, while these things can change at the last minute, Hull are the clear favourites."

Point 37! Where is ur proof, u joke?
Celtic have sold ALL there assets, the Gers have not had to do this yet. We OWN our club. Your lot dont
Nae bother mac, away and take your smack like a good little bhoy
And where did u come by this information, the tabloid press no doubt? You are a desperate joke of an individual. Operating with no debt equals, not using an overdraft as to be using an over draft facility is to actually be in debt as an over draft is operating in credit. Y'know what that is, thats what has crippled ur club!
the nearest paul g as got to dubia is playing with sand castles, the tube has never left scotland,we all know that u live in a fantasy world nancy boy
Nobody can prove me wrong on this one
paul g,u are a NANCY BOY
Prove me wrong
Do celtic have money then? There in there overdraft which means they have NO money, does it not?
Point 18! How the hell could Celtic be skint? We never spent decades going to the Bank for credit to buy duds like FLO etc. U lot are reaping the rewards of decades of mis management and at the mercy of David Murray's ego. Wake up u down and out wino!!!
Bobby C even!
Point 28! So the year after Celtic won it, Man U did it with local boys like Law, Best and the Bonbby Charlton etc. That is an exclusive Paul. Even Best, Law and Charlton etc never knew they were from Manchester! Loser.
Point 28! i take it u have proof of this? Birth details? Locallity to local stadiums etc. So in the 60's every team played exclusivley local players? U most have some contacts to know all the birth details of the1960's european football community. Sounds like a desperate cream bum clutching at straws. Pathetic as it is common!
Point 24! Exactly who can Rangers afford? Baldy Bain must be ripping his hai... of thats right eyebrows out!!! He needs to stop greeting to it'll make his fake tan run.
Point 27, ALL players were homegrown no matter where you went back then. All teams had there own local guys.
For a team to get to the Final of the European cup, with all home grown players within a 35 mile radius of Celtic Park, with little money to spend is a feat that has never been acomplished since and probably never will. The money that teams get in england to spend is ridiculous - A team like Wigan, Stoke or Bolton get something like 15 million just from TV Revenue every year - That's massively more than Celtic or Rangers... In other words, Celtic and Rangers punch above their weight every year. It can be said that Celtic and Rangers are succesful in Europe mainly due to the following we have. Christ knows what team you support but it would be interesting to know.
I'm not saying Scottish football is better than the EPL, but the EPL is certainly not the best in Europe by a long Shot...
As for the wife sticking to knitting, which just shows how much of a pie you really are when you think that women shouldn't support football, she has supported Liverpool since she was 8 - So roughly 33 years, so I reckon she knows damn more about football than you....
So go back to the rock you crawled from under and drink yer pish-poor warm ale.
Point 25! Minglish Ham, the one and only difference between the SPL and EPL is the Sky TV money! Prove me wrong, u fool!!!
point 22. your a clown so you think the @#$% SPL is better than the EPL when was the last time a SPL team got to a champions league final theres an english side there every year celtic got there about a 100 years ago and you tims never stop talking about it.tell your wife to stick to washing the dishes or knitting woman know sod all about football/ENGLISH SAM
Lucky if celtic get fletcher aswell, they cant afford him
As for this Fortune, I'm glad it looks like falling through - He's not worth 3 mill... Personally I think he's a cover player at best... Big gulp here but have to agree with Paul G (I know I might be in a coma or something), but Samaras is better than this guy... We need someone stronger who is going to work round wee skippy. As for the Board being skint, then just wait and see. It's not Celtic's fault if the media try and link Celtic to every player that's in Europe - I think they do it to noise up the fans and then state that the deal has fell through, even when there is no deal in reality... But at the end of the day, there is money there for Celtic to be linked to players - They can't say that over at the Fortress of Darkness can they?
