Hartlepool have signed goalkeeper Scott Flinders following his release by Crystal Palace.

The 23-year-old believes plying his trade with the League One outfit is a good career move after making just 11 starts in three years at Selhurst Park.

"I have had a bit of interest from a few clubs, but I'm happy to be signing for Hartlepool.

"It's going to be a good step for me to move on in my career," Flinders told Hartlepool's official website.

"Now I'm just looking forward to the start of the season and to get cracking."
