New signing Noel Hunt made a sparkling debut as Shane Long's first-half goal gave Reading a 1-0 win over Lerkils IF in Sweden on Saturday.Noel Hunt struck up an immediate understanding with strike partner Long and it was his cross that set up the Irish international for the decisive strike midway through the first half.

The Royals could have scored more as the chances flowed but rusty finishing from SteverCoppell's forwards meant the scoreline remained close.

It was new signing Hunt's first 90 minutes for the club since his £600,000 transfer from Dundee United.

French midfielder Kalifa Cisse also played the full game after being granted extra time off due to international commitments with Mali over the summer.
