Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas has hinted he is interested in a move to Real Madrid, but poured cold water on the idea he could move to the Bernabeu this summer.
Reports in Spain suggest Madrid president Ramon Calderon, resigned to missing out on Manchester United winger Cristiano Ronaldo, has prepared a big-money offer for the 21-year-old.
But while Fabregas, a product of the Barcelona youth academy, revealed he could move to Madrid in the future, he insists he wants to stay at the Emirates Stadium for the time being.
"I didn't tell Ramon Calderon no," he told Spanish sports daily Marca.
"I told him that now wasn't the time to go to Madrid.
"That you are wanted by Madrid, one of the biggest teams in history, is important."
Fabregas enjoyed a great summer as he helped Spain end their 44-year wait for a trophy at Euro 2008.
Domestically, however, for the third year on the trot, the midfielder ended yet another season empty-handed.
And the young star, who feels he would be certain to lift a trophy should he opt for the Spanish champions, admits another season without any silverware could see him head for the exit door.
"To be four seasons without winning any titles would be too much for me," Fabregas added.
"Real Madrid are the favourites to win La Liga this year."
Arsenal's trophy-less season was made even more painful as rivals Manchester United swept all before them at home and in Europe.
Fabregas is in no doubt that the man who made the difference for United would be a big success at the Bernabeu.
"The league and the Champions League that United won this season was because of Cristiano," he continued. "At Madrid he would help them win titles."

Personally, I don't think Prof. Arsene Wenger should be blamed for his tactics of picking up n grooming young n talented players to stardoms, who are later on enticed by so-called big clubs. Wenger, is my defination of an excellent coach. The rest are just bearing the name. The problem is more with the players who are departing, some because of lack of patience and some coz of greed. For a team to be a winning team, the players must stick together n be patience. Players have been leaving one club to another with the intent to win trophies but they end up not winning anything. It's not a bad idea to leave one club to another, but it should not be motivated by either greed or silverware. Ronaldo stayed with Man. U won everything n now he wants to move on else where, that is a good thing for him n I don't see anything wrong in that. There's little or nothing Mr. Wenger could do about players who want to leave. Ijang
Arsene Wenger should wake up to the reality of the times. For how long will he continue to be building a team with youngsters when he should know that each season without trophy will see his team depleted. If he doesn't have a big ambition, it is not so with his players. They want to win something and you can achieve that with new and little-experienced players. He should buy new players for the defence bcos Gallas is fast becoming a spentforce in that department. He should strengthen both the attack and midfield so that the likes of Fabregas will not be overstretched. What is he going to do with all the money he has realised from the sale of players? Does Arsene Wenger not see that his fellow travellers, Man U, Chelsea and Liverpool, are very busy in the market shopping for experienced talents. He is busy looking for young players he'll groom to stardom. But he forgets that as soon as such players hit stardom with or without trophies in Arsenal, rival clubs will poach them. It's as simple as that. If we don't win trophies this season, he should be prepared to bid goodbye to Emirate Stadium. His docility in the football market coupled with his penchant for cheap players has become a source of concern to most Arsenal fans. I don't know how he expects to win trophies when he is not replacing his departed players with experienced ones. That's why the likes of Adebayor want to leave. There is much pressure on these youngsters, and there's a limit to what they can deliver. It's as simple as that, and Wenger should appreciate this! We want to win trophies this season!!!
Arsenal is currently a bus stop.
No buses for ages, then three come at once and pick up all the passengers. The ticket inspector needs to check the tickets on all passenger and not let them travel without it being valid. The tickets is a written contract that has to be honoured.
Many passengers wating at the bus stop don't have a valid ticket to travel.
Seems like Arsenal will continue to rebuild forever. Is there an ending product Mr.Wenger?
Madrid is barely hanging on at the top so whoever thinks there reign of success is going to continue is out of their mind. They have not been playing good football ball hence the early CL exit but got very lucky in most games in the last season. They are a good outfit but i think they need a better manager.
ha in ur dreams
It is so nice to hear like this that fabrigas will move the way to real madrid next season becuase I don't think so that Arsenal will be the champion of primer league this year. And it is also the best team fot gabrigas is 100% sure the REAL MADRID.
