Mon 27 Aug, 05:45 PM

Colchester striker Teddy Sheringham admits he is enjoying banging in the goals as much now as at any time in his illustrious career. The 41-year-old former England international took his tally to two in three games with a penalty as the Us thumped Preston 3-0 at Deepdale on Saturday, adding to his maiden strike against Barnsley the previous week.

"I'm really pleased to have scored in the last two games and I'll take them all," he told the Gazette.

"Whether they're penalties, tap-ins, you name it, I'll have them. It's a great start for us and we're up and running."
