Gareth Southgate has reiterated that Stewart Downing is 'not available' and that there have been no approaches for the Middlesbrough winger.
Ahead of the closure of the transfer window, Downing continues to be linked with a move away from the Riverside.
Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur have long been mooted as fans of the England international, while Sunderland have recently been credited with an interest.
Downing signed a new contract earlier this year and has pledged his immediate future to the club after admitting he wants to help Boro push for the UEFA Champions League.
Boro boss Southgate is aware of the rumours surrounding Downing, but feels other clubs are aware of his stance on the 24-year-old.
"I keep reading it, but the sands of time are running out and there is no approach," Southgate said.
"Clubs know we have no interest in doing any business there, so I presume that's why they haven't bothered.
"Obviously it would appeal to many, but he is not available. It's very straightforward."

Of course I meant that The Black Twats will struggle to stay in Championship when they are relegated in May 2009
More chance of Boro in Champions league than those those rejects that have signed for the mackens who seem to think there a preimer league team,
Whats that I hear, - oh its the championship calling Sunderland, down you go bye bye
Boro have achieved UEFA Cup previously, even getting to the final and will do it again although I admit Champions League is a bit ambitious. As for the Black Twats well if they keep spending the Paddy Euros like they have been doing on second rate Tottenham rejects etc who know they might just manage to put a tem together that can stay in Champions League. Keane will be off soon to Man Utd, he's just training at The Stadium of @#$%
champions league ha hah hah hah hah hilarious they cant evn get a uea cup spot and he thinks their going CL
