Coleman keen to add to squad

Coventry manager Chris Coleman remains hopeful of adding fresh faces to his squad before the transfer deadline and will also tie striker Leon McKenzie to a new deal in the coming days.

Coleman has made no secret of his desire to bolster his ranks with injury taking its toll on what is already a small squad at the Ricoh Arena.

"We're talking to two different ones," said Coleman. "We haven't got long left obviously but I wouldn't rule anything out. I wouldn't say it's definitely going to happen. We were close at the beginning of the week and then it faded, as they sometimes do.

"There's a couple of conversations so who knows."

Coleman will also keep hold of McKenzie following his recent return from a ruptured Achilles. The forward, 31, penned a one-month contract towards the end of July with the aim of proving his fitness and he has done enough to earn an extended stay at the club.

"I'm going to pull Leon in and put something in writing for him," added Coleman. "I'll talk to him about the length of it and obviously the salary and everything."
