Testing has gotten underway for the 2010 World Superbike Championship, with a number of new faces taking to new bikes around the Portimao circuit.
However, most eyes are on James Toseland, who is seen here making his debut aboard the Yamaha R1 that Ben Spies took to the World Superbike riders’ title just two days ago.
Toseland is bidding to become the first rider to win three World Superbike titles on three different machines when he returns to the series following two seasons in MotoGP.

Come on Mike, no need to be so rude mate. Im English and i think Toseland was an also ran in Moto GP. In WSB however he is a star and its where he needs to be. Hugh, Toseland wont be as quick as Ben on his first test will he? Give him a chance to "bond" with the bike and set it up and im sure he'll do well. Spies is a hell of a talent and i personally think he will ride the Tech3 Yamaha to its full potential but he will find it tougher going than i think hes expecting. If he can mix it with the likes of Stoner, Rossi and Lorenzo then i will happily admit that he is god on 2 wheels. To be honest, Rossi gets on my nerves and i would love to see him thrashed!!!
Wow, Yamaha's first title in the World Superbike class and they are now a competitive bike. Guess only time will tell. Have they arrived and got something for the Ducati's, Honda's, etc. or was it just the man behind the machine!!
have u got a crush on james toseland mike such a hostile response to a post
Well Hugh , do you know anything about this sport - you are talking about a double world champ in this arena and before you say it - you have to be able to ride the fastest bike a little like Ben , Troy and Leon . Did you ever see Troy Bayliss on a non competitive bike ?
So before you knock a real rider like JT get your facts right please.
gee mike, rather hostile mate :)
Just stating the obvious, ie James aint quick.
not like Casey or Troy :)
everyone is raving about ben spies well good luck to him but cant see him doing anything in motogp edwards will still be top dog in tech3 and with rossi staying for another couple years he wont get factory ride with yamaha so where will he end up prob same place as tosland back in wsb in a couple years
