Ivan Ljubicic, former world number three, expresses his love of Guns and Roses, Metallica and George Clooney.
What was you first car?
Ford Focus, it was beautiful, I really loved to drive it.
Best thing you have been given for free?
iPod
What do you listen to on your iPod?
Metal, rock, hard rock, but I try to stay away from music before a match because it tends to mix my emotions.
If your friends came over for dinner, what would you cook them?
Pasta, some vegetables and then some fruit afterwards, try and keep it natural.
If your house was on fire, what would you save?
As much as I can bring. I was actually in a hotel once which caught on fire and I ended up with nothing, so I hope it doesn't happen again.
If you weren't a sportsman, what would you be doing?
Something to do with economy. I like numbers and I try to follow it as much as I can.
What would you sing if you went to karaoke?
Something from Guns and Roses or Metallica, they are my two favourite bands.
Earliest sporting memory?
One of my first ever practices; I used to play with a wooden racquet that was so heavy I couldn't even lift it.
You are having a dinner party, which three other people would you choose?
Wife, son and George Clooney.
What is the most extravagant thing you have ever brought?
Car (not the Ford Focus).
If you were Prime Minister, what would be the first law you would pass?
I would try and bring more money into sports to get kids playing more.
What is the cutest animal you have ever eaten?
Rabbit, it's good.

It is always pleasure to hear from Great Croatian tennis players. This candid conversation has revealed some more secrets about Ljubicic. No doubt he is great performer on tennis world despite of up and down in his career. But overall he is one of the best tennis players in Croatia. I like his playing as well as his attitude about life. Keep it up Ljubicic.

bosnian legend
Sweet, LJubcic is a Metalhead! Awesome! ...He's a killer tennis player too
His life would make a good film-from refugee to a man who lives in Monte Carlo and has earned millions and yet he remains so normal and down to earth type of guy.Great man to look up to and I have been surprised by his good form recently-he slipped outside top 70 and now is back to top 30.Well done for him.Shame he has been struggling with injuries.
Vitor I think that's what he was hoping for, lol.
stuartxland you are just a nationalist - nothing more, nothing less.
Better read again what Aleksic wrote.. Serbs have great respect for Ljubicic, but you don’t have to shove here love for Novak to "return a favor", just try not to be "dishonest" yourself..
What a nice boring bloke!
"You are having a dinner party, which three other people would you choose?
Wife, son and George Clooney."
IT WOULD TOO RISKY FOR LJUBICIC. HIS WIFE MIGHT TAKE HIS SON WITH HER AND GO AWAY WITH CLOONEY!!
Why you all thumbed down Denis? he is right, seems like you guys only watch tennis since Wimbledon 08 LOL..
Ivan is living proof that unlike Djcheatovic not all Yougoslavian tennis players are dishonest. Napred Ivan!!!!!!
If his defeats are maintaining his life style anyway ,,, good for him. Good man with a very fortunate escape from the troubles in 90´s. lucky man and he knows it. From Bosnia to Monte Carlo legitimately , know mean feet.
i'm a huge fan of Ljubo, and respect him a great deal. i've always known he had a great personality, and this article only strengthens my claim. class act indeed.
i hope other Yugoslavs can look past this ethnic cr@p and admire such talented and good natured individuals.
Not going to happen. He hit his peak when he unsuccessfully challenged Fed a few years back. He couldn't get over that hurdle and since then it's been a steady decline. Too bad, there was a lot of potential there...
Ljubicic is a class act . . . here is to hoping for a few more productive years of challenging the top 10!
