Reading boss Brendan Rodgers is set to move for a loan striker after seeing his side miss a host of chances against Leicester.

Rodgers saw his side carve open the Foxes on numerous occasions but Simon Church and Grzegorz Rasiak were unable to provide a finishing touch in a 1-0 defeat.

"You don't need to be a rocket scientist to see that we are lacking something at the top of the pitch," he said.

"We lost a lot of players in the summer and I have given everyone here a chance but we are where we are. The only thing missing is the end product.

"Loan signings remain an option and that is something I will have to look at."

  1. Who's going to be good, yet want to come to Reading though? They need to be looking at Premiership clubs in my opinion, but is Reading a big enough club still to tempt players with some experience?

  2. You had the chance to sign Tommy Smith but a derisory fee was offered in the transfer window. He wanted to come what's more. I don't suppose it was your fault Mr Rodgers but if Mr Madjeski thinks he can sell a failing team because he's lost some of his millions in the recession he's really thick!!!!
