Jimmy White kept his hopes of another appearance at the Masters alive with a 5-3 win over Ian McCulloch in the second round of qualifying in Prestatyn.

White came to Prestatyn in fine form having won in Prague recently and he followed up his win over Andrew Norman with victory over Preston potter McCulloch.

McCulloch took the opening frame with a 60 but the Whirlwind hit back to take the next three. McCulloch kept in the hunt and cut the deficit to 4-3 by taking the seventh, but a 53 saw White take the match to set up a meeting with David Gray who ousted Stephen Lee 5-3.
