Chelsea have been told they will have to pay a huge fee if they want Atletico Madrid forward Sergio Aguero.
Atletico delegate general Miguel Angel Gil Marin claims Chelsea made a summer offer of around £41million for the Argentina international, who played in the defeat to Carlo Ancelotti's men last week at Stamford Bridge in the Champions League.
Gil Marin told Marca: "If they want to make a better offer, Atletico will assess it."
Meanwhile, midfielder Joe Cole is happy with how contract talks are developing about staying at Chelsea beyond the end of the season when his current deal runs out.
Cole, who stepped up his rehabilitation from his knee injury with an appearance against Blackburn on Saturday, told the Evening Standard: "We're talking at the moment. I love it here. The club want me to stay, so there should be no problems and I feel like this is my home.
"There is so much to look forward to and I am so excited about just playing football for Chelsea and England.
"There are a lot of ups and downs in football and I've had eight-nine months of sitting on my backside watching so the game against Blackburn was like a breath of fresh air for me."

i think he is a good young experienced player,everyday i look at ATHLETICO MADRID he scores.Thats a god idea from Carlo Ancellotti.This is what CA needs to do so this players going to the Afican Nations Cup-DROGBA,ESSIEN,MIKEL,KALOU

Aguero would be a perfect addition to the chelsea squad. He's quick on the ball and bursting with energy. Although young and inexperienced, a team like chelsea will take him from winning nothing, just like we did to frank lampard, joe cole etc and turn him into a match winner! :)
nlmh. he sadly probably wont but if he does then the lineup will be the same but with aguero in the starting lineup instead of anelka.
really wish he had came in summer as he's 1of my favourite players. that also makes me want him not to come in case he doesnt work out. 41million for him is steep as it is never mind more.

that is what our best team would be. what a squad we'd have though. I mean. Carvalho, Ivanovic, Belletti, Zhirkov, Ferreira, Mikel, Malouda, Deco, Anelka, Kalou and Sturridge are all left out plus our youngsters who have a great future. mancienne, bruma, hutchison, sinclair, stoch, matic, borini and di santo to name a few.
that is a perfect squad. evey position is covered with players of all ages. keeping everyone happy is the only problem. hope we dont just sell off some youngsters, I wasnt happy when sahar left to be honest. think he has a great future

aguero = next flop to come to the prem from la liga, not worth anything close to 41m.. chelsea need a holding mid to replace mikel/essien for the african cup
