Gareth Owen insists Port Vale are not scared of anyone in League Two as they prepare for Saturday`s trip to second-placed Dagenham.
Vale are currently unbeaten in five games and Owen will be going all out to ensure they stretch that run after this weekend`s clash at Victoria Road.
"We don`t fear anyone in this league so we should be going on unbeaten runs," Owen told the club`s official website. "The most consistent team is the one that`s up there at he end of the season so we need to keep picking up points and putting in performances.
"We aren`t resting on our laurels. We will continue to work hard and the fixtures don`t get any tougher than this Saturday`s game against Dagenham & Redbridge. We haven`t achieved anything yet and we need to keep working hard."
The centre-back was one of several Vale players struck down by a virus ahead of last weekend`s 1-1 draw against Cheltenham.
He added: "I was nowhere near 100%. I was sick at half-time and struggling in the warm-up but it was a case of `taking one for the team`. The manager was already missing Lee Collins so I had to battle through and do what I could."
