Sansara wants to stay in saddle

Netan Sansara is determined to keep hold of his place in the Walsall line-up having been granted his first start of the season at the 11th hour on Saturday.

The 20-year-old full-back was promoted from the substitutes` bench less than half-an-hour before kick-off against Colchester after Jamie Vincent was injured in the pre-match warm-up.

Sansara grasped his chance with both hands as the Saddlers narrowly went down 2-1 and is now focused on making sure he is in Chris Hutchings` thoughts for this weekend`s trip to Wycombe.

"I`ve waited so long for this opportunity, but the way it came about caught me surprise," he told the club`s official website. "There were a few nerves but things happened so fast and in the end I thought I gave a good account of myself.

"Now it`s up to me to build upon it and keep my place in the team."

Meanwhile, recent loan signing Mark Oxley will make his first appearance for the club on Tuesday afternoon when Walsall`s reserve side comes against Sheffield Wednesday. Richard Taundry also makes his return from injury.
