Garmin sign up Aussie duo
Two of Australia's most promising young cyclists Nathan Haas and Steele Von Hoff will join Jonathan Vaughters' Slipstream Sports stable for next season.
Haas will go straight into the Garmin-Cervelo World Tour team while Hoff will join the Chipotle development team with a view to stepping up in 2013.
Haas caught the eye of Vaughters after an impressive breakout season, winning all but one of the Australian stage races in the National Road Series.
Haas said it was a "dream come true to be signing with Garmin."
He added: "To even be considered as part of such an incredible outfit is humbling in itself, and I look forward to the next two years working under some of cycling' greats with a huge sense of enthusiasm and optimism.
"Simply put, to leave my development in Garmin-Cervelo's hands, I could not be happier."
Von Hoff, though a year older than the 22-year-old Haas, was not thought to be ready for the higher level team and will be able to build on his 2011 progress in the development team.
"I'm really happy to be part of the Chipotle development team," he said. "It's a really good opportunity for me to step up. Hopefully I'll be introduced to the Pro team and things will kick on from there. It'll give me an extra year to develop and learn which can only be good.
