Hartlepool chairman Ken Hodcroft has spoken of the "honour" he felt after the club won two prizes at the North East Football Writers' Awards.Hodcroft picked up the John Fotheringham Award in recognition of his achievements since taking over at Victoria Park 10 years ago and was joined on stage by manager Danny Wilson, who collected the Team of the Year Award after his Pools side achieved promotion from League Two last season.
Hodcroft told the club's official website: "It was amazing really - a total surprise."
"Promotion seems a long time ago now but it was fitting that Danny and his team were recognised because going up last season was a massive achievement.
"I've looked at my award and the names on the side are unbelievable - Bobby Robson and Jack Charlton are both on there and to have my name alongside those is a real honour.
"In the business we're in you don't usually get any awards - you're lucky if you get a reply to your memo so it was a great evening!"
