Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy doesn't believe Dimitar Berbatov will quit White Hart Lane in the January transfer window.
The Bulgarian striker has struggled to reach the heights of last season and has been linked with a possible move away from the North London club.
But Levy is desperate to keep hold of Berbatov and remains hopeful the striker will see out the season with the Premier League strugglers.
Levy told The Sun: "I very much hope Dimitar will be here at the start of next season but I hope that for most of our players.
"It's always difficult talking about individual players when you're coming up to a transfer window.
"I don't expect any of our first-team players to be leaving in January and I very much hope they'll be here in the summer.
"But the summer is a long way off and a lot can happen between now and then. No one person is bigger than the club. This is a team."
Spurs boss Juande Ramos has already indicated his desire to keep hold of the 26-year-old but insists he won't stand in the striker's way if he wants to leave the club
