Poll: Rossi trumps Hamilton

Lewis Hamilton has been comprehensively beaten by MotoGP superstar Valentino Rossi in our poll to decide the most impressive motorsports world champion.

At the time of writing, Rossi has attracted 59 per cent of votes (966) from Eurosport-Yahoo! readers, who clearly believe the Italian's five world titles put him streets ahead of the competition.

Briton Hamilton, who became the youngest Formula One champion in history this season, has recorded just 15 per cent of the vote (251), putting him in third place behind French rally driver Sebastian Loeb.

Loeb won the WRC title for the fifth time in succession this year, to become the most successful driver in the history of the sport.

World Superbikes champion Troy Bayliss lies fourth in the poll, having secured seven per cent (117), with Yvan Muller of WTCC in last place with a paltry one per cent (7).
