Universidad de Chile were fined £12,000 for crowd trouble at their Copa Sudamericana quarter-final against Fluminense of Brazil this month, the South American Football Confederation (CSF) said.

The CSF also banned three players of Paraguayan side Cerro Porteno and one of Fluminense for two matches following a brawl at the end of the second leg of their semi-final in Rio de Janeiro last week.

A linesman was hit on the head by an object thrown from the crowd at Universidad de Chile's Santa Laura ground at the end of the November 5 match. The Fluminense players and the match officials also had to delay their return to the changing rooms as a result of objects being hurled at them.

Cerro Porteno were fined £18,000 and had their ground suspended for four matches in CSF club competitions on Wednesday for similar crowd violence during the first leg of their semi-final with Fluminense.

At the end of the second leg at the Maracana where Fluminense scored two stoppage time goals to reach the final, players and coaching staff were involved in a mass brawl.

Once the fracas was over, the referee showed the red card to Cerro's Roberto Nanni, Jorge Britez and Jorge Nunez and Fluminense's reserve goalkeeper Fernando Henrique, who were all suspended at Thursday's CSF disciplinary committee meeting.

Fluminense were beaten 5-1 away by Ecuador's LDU Quito in the first leg of the final on Wednesday. The second leg will be played in Rio next week.
