Calderwood in a defiant mood

Thu 27 Dec, 03:30 PM

Nottingham Forest manager Colin Calderwood refused to be downbeat despite his side being knocked off the top of League One.The much-fancied Reds could only battle to a goalless draw at Oldham, while Swansea put Cheltenham to the sword 4-1 to rise to the summit.

And Calderwood believes his side only deserved a point in a game where Oldham made it difficult for them.

He said: "It was tough and competitive and Oldham have quality players who can cause problems, especially up front. But we kept their opportunities to a minimum.

"We lifted our levels in the second half because we needed to, otherwise we might have been beaten. We didn't have enough chances to win the game but we certainly didn't deserve to lose.

"A hard-earned draw keeps us ticking over and I was pleased with that."
