Oldham boss John Sheridan was content with a share of the spoils after his in-form side held Nottingham Forest to a goalless draw. There was little to choose between the two sides throughout the game as the Latics kept their promotion-chasing visitors at bay.
Sheridan, whose side are now unbeaten in 11 games, said: "A draw was probably the right result. It was a very tight game and although we didn't create much we matched a side that was top of the league.
"They are well organised, difficult to break down and tough to beat, that's why they are up there. They knew we have been improving and came to frustrate us.
"I could tell that by the attacking players they left out. I couldn't see us losing but we didn't have the cutting edge to finish them off."
