Hutton back at Ibrox after talks

Mon 28 Jan, 10:30 AM

Rangers defender Alan Hutton has returned to Glasgow after failing to agree a move to Tottenham during talks at White Hart Lane on Sunday.Hutton rejected a move to the Premier League side earlier this month but the deal could still go through before the transfer window closes on Thursday.

An £8million offer from Tottenham was accepted by Rangers and Hutton flew south on Sunday for further discussions over the move.

However he has so far failed to agree terms and could still line up for Rangers in Wednesday's CIS Insurance Cup semi-final against Hearts.

Rangers are treating Hutton's situation as an ongoing issue, but they do not consider his position to have significantly changed since last week.

Scotland defender Hutton, 23, would be a natural replacement for Pascal Chimbonda, who has been linked with Newcastle and Sevilla.
