Winger worries for Tractor Boys

Mon 28 Jan, 12:45 PM

Ipswich manager Jim Magilton has doubts over wingers Jon Walters and Billy Clarke for Tuesday's visit of Plymouth Argyle in the Championship.Walters has a niggling thigh problem while Clarke injured his ankle in training over the weekend.

Magilton said: "Billy turned his ankle in training and is doubtful. Jon has been receiving treatment for a thigh injury but he is training and we will make a late call on him."

Clarke would have been an unlikely starter at Portman Road but Walters has been integral to Town this season, contributing 10 goals from the right-hand side. Tommy Miller was left out of the side which drew 1-1 at Blackpool last time out and would be an obvious replacement in midfield should Walters miss out, while Alan Quinn is available for his debut after completing a £400,000 move from Sheffield United.

Full-back Luis Castro Sito was sent-off at Bloomfield Road and begins a three-match ban so Dan Harding or youth-team captain Chris Casement will return, while midfielder Liam Trotter sits out the second game of his three-match suspension.

Striker Alan Lee - who continues to be linked with a move to Burnley - will be hoping to start after being left out at Blackpool and defender Richard Naylor is in contention after coming on as a substitute in the last two games after 11 months out with Achilles and neck injuries.
