Opare has signed a six-year deal with the Spanish champions after a fee of £1.1 million was agreed with his club Ashanti Gold.

Reports in the British press had linked the 17 year-old to a move to Anfield.

The pacy right back starred for Ghana in last year's Under-17 World Cup and received his first full international call-up for a friendly against Togo in November.

He was named in Ghana's squad for the Africa Cup of Nations but was forced to withdraw because of an ankle injury.

"For me to play in Europe is a dream," Opare told Spanish reporters.

"The offer of Real Madrid was more interesting to my club."
