Euro 2012 - Ferguson backs Welbeck for Euro 2012
Sir Alex Ferguson is certain Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck will get his chance to shine at Euro 2012.
Two years ago, Ferguson claimed Welbeck was good enough to force his way into the Fabio Capello's World Cup squad. A series of niggling injuries prevented the then teenager from developing as quickly as his manager had forecast.
Welbeck finally made his England debut last March and has subsequently made substitute appearances against both Montenegro and Spain.
And Ferguson is in no doubt the 21-year-old will make Capello's final cut for this summer's Finals in Poland and Ukraine.
"I think he will be (in the squad)," said the United boss. "He is developing into a very strong athlete and when he gets moving, he is really quick.
"He was always a decent goalscorer but when he plays regularly for us he has been getting a goal a game."

Sorry if this upsets the usual diehard suspects who cannot see the need to move forward but Ferguson needs to concentrate on his pretty rubbish squad, he's packing it with nearly men, has beens and never will be's. I used to think he was the tops, he's now a fading star -3 cup competitions he's been booted out of this season- and should retire before his complacency drags the club even lower, and he should take the Glazers with him!
ANYONE is better than Theo Walcott - recall for Steve McManaman!
When I see him coming from inside to the pitch I always get winning spirit, he scores everygame he plays now and am sure he is gonna make chicharito have a longer wait hahaha am his number one fan
