Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish praised the attitude of players and fans alike after his side knocked Manchester United out of the FA Cup with a 2-1 fourth round win at Anfield.
Off-field matters had dominated pre-match proceedings as both sides tried to ease tensions ahead of the first meeting of the two sides since Luis Suarez's eight-match ban for racially abusing Patrice Evra.
However, there were very few flashpoints in a game which lacked a little of the ferocity usually seen in such encounters.
Dirk Kuyt's 88th-minute goal proved decisive, after Daniel Agger's header had been cancelled out by Park Ji-sung before half-time, as Liverpool made it two cup victories three days having reached the Carling Cup final in midweek at the expense of Manchester City.
"It was a fantastic effort from our players after what they had to get through on Wednesday night," said Dalglish.
"To ask them to come back and play again on Saturday morning was pushing it a bit too far. Their commitment, attitude and desire to get a result was fantastic and we cannot speak highly enough of them after that performance and result."

well done Liverpool keep it up for the rest of the season
57% possesion in liverpools own back yard thought Man ~U were playing at home . Lucky liverpool . 16 poimts !!!
Ferguson will be taking Peter Schmeichel out of retirement next!
I was becoming very critical of Daglishes tactics and team choices but the last 2 games he has come good. In fairness to Andy Caroll he worked his sock off today and was instrumental in helping the goals. Lets hope this is going to be positive turning point for LFC and that this team spirit and hard work reflect into the remaining Premiership games.
Well done lads

Manager and his staff could build up team spirit and create match winning team, that is the way professionals could do, that mean United haven't got professionals at the moment
There's not many Man U fans leaving comments today, I wonder why that is?
