Draw frustrates Parry

Tranmere manager Les Parry was bitterly disappointed not to see his side beat Huddersfield.

Rovers had to settle for a 1-1 draw despite creating the majority of the game's chances. Jordan Rhodes put the visitors ahead with his 29th goal of the season two minutes into the second half before Adam McGurk headed Parry's side level two minutes later.

"We won both halves and on the chances created should have taken the game," said Parry. "The lads worked their socks off. They ran a lot of miles. We were sharp in the tackle and won a lot of second balls. We made it difficult for them all the way through.

"Only one side looked as if they were going to win it. We simply have got to do better with the chances we create."

Parry was particularly pleased with his side's attitude to going behind, saying: "We switched off for one second to allow them to score. But we responded superbly. We got into some terrific positions late on but we just could not finish them off, which was very disappointing.

"Generally I was pleased with what I saw apart from the goal misses. If we continue to play that way we should be able to climb the table. We have played against a very successful team and looked the better side."
