Walsall manager Richard Money is hopeful of persuading Stefan Moore to sign for the Saddlers. The former Aston Villa striker has been training with the Saddlers this week and played in the reserve-team game against Leicester.
Money revealed that he has been impressed with the 24-year-old and that he hopes to see off competition from other interested parties to bring him to the Banks's Stadium.
"We are in discussions with him and hopefully we can maybe do something," said Money. "I like him and I think we might just get him at the right time in his career.
"I know he has had an offer to go to Australia, which he doesn't really want to do, and I think there are one or two other clubs who would be interested in taking him.
"But the advantage that we have is that he is a Birmingham boy and he would like to come back to the area."
