Roberts relishing Tranmere clash

Thu 28 Feb, 07:15 PM

Doncaster Rovers defender Gareth Roberts will relish a return to former club Tranmere in League One action on Saturday.Roberts, who made over 300 appearances for Tranmere before a free transfer to Doncaster in July 2006, was sidelined with a hernia problem when the two sides drew 0-0 at the Keepmoat Stadium in November.

Roberts told the club's official website: "When we go to Tranmere, we will be going there for all three points, but it will be a difficult game up there.

"They're on a good run themselves at the moment and will be hard to break down. They are strong at the back and good going forward.

"It's always good to go back. I do go back quite a bit to watch the games with the wife and the little 'un.

"I still have a lot of friends and family up there, so it will be great to go back; pick up the win and spend the weekend back home with all the family."
