Ospreys full-back Lee Byrne has signed a new four-year contract with the region.

The 27-year-old Wales Test star has committed himself to the Ospreys until the end of the 2011-12 season.

Byrne, who Ospreys signed from Llanelli Scarlets in 2006, said: "I'm delighted to be able to extend my contract for another four years and I'm excited about the challenges that lie ahead, both for myself personally, and for the Ospreys.

"The Ospreys are on the verge of big things and I'm looking forward to helping the region move on to the next level, which is to establish ourselves as one of Europe's leading sides."
