Borussia Dortmund and Germany midfielder Sebastian Kehl has signed a new four-year deal at the club.

Former Hanover and Freiburg anchorman Kehl had been the subject of much speculation, with his previous contract set to run down in the summer and a move to Bayern Munich tipped.

"I have been at this club for six years and belong to Borussia Dortmund," the 28-year-old told Kicker magazine.

Kehl, who has 33 caps for Germany, had also been linked with Bayern when he opted to join BVB in 2002.

The club currently lie 11th in the 18-team Bundesliga.
