Blades to review Blackwell position

Sheffield United's plc chairman Kevin McCabe has revealed the club will review Kevin Blackwell's position as manager at the end of the season.McCabe has confirmed to shareholders that Blackwell's appointment is part of an on-going process at Bramall Lane as the club "continues to review the way it manages its football operations".

McCabe said: "Kevin Blackwell's appointment as first-team manager allows the club time to reorganise our football operations to meet with current best practice.

"Kevin has made an excellent start on his return to Bramall Lane and demonstrated first-class managerial experience and motivational qualities.

"The re-shaping of the football executive is fundamental in producing a successful first-team squad worthy of the best supported team in the Championship.

"Our ambition, to be a Premier League club competing in the higher reaches of that league, remains unchanged."
