Brown impressed by Folan's form

Fri 28 Mar, 09:45 AM

Hull manager Phil Brown admits Caleb Folan's persistence has forced him into a "fantastic" selection dilemma ahead of the visit of Watford. The striker has scored in each of the last two games and claimed three in the last five as the Tigers climbed to third in the Championship, just two points off automatic promotion.

Brown told the Hull Daily Mail: "It's a fantastic situation for me to be in with so many good players desperately trying to get back into the starting line-up.

"When some players are out of the team, they're banging on your door in the physical sense.

"But where Caleb is concerned, he's doing it the metaphorical way.

"He's doing it by giving everything in training, and in his performances in the first team when his chances come along.

"He's taken his goals very well in the last week and that's not just a reminder to me, it's a reminder to all the other strikers that Caleb Folan is still around."

Hull host Watford on Saturday with the teams level on points but City ahead courtesy of a superior goal difference of just one.

Should either team get a positive result and the other games produce favourable scorelines, they could find themselves top on Saturday.

However, Hull's hopes have been hit by West Brom's decision to recall Neil Clement, leaving them short of defensive cover.
