Burnley boss Owen Coyle has challenged his players to prove they are "up for the task" in the next six games if they want to stay at the club. The Clarets are four points adrift of a play-off place with six fixtures remaining and Coyle has offered his players a timely ultimatum to prove they are worth their place in his side next season.
"We are going to build on this and we are going to make ourselves a far stronger team next season," Coyle told the club's official website.
"I want the players between now and the end of the season, whether they are in contract or out of contract, to show they want to be a part of it.
"Whether they are out of contract or not, if I think they are not up for the task then the bottom line is they won't play in the team.
"Certainly the fans want to see that they are giving all they've got, that they are mentally strong and want to do this for the football club - that's the type of players we want on this journey."
