Caretaker boss Mick Wadsworth has cast doubt over his future with Gretna by admitting he is likely to miss Saturday's SPL match at St Mirren.Wadsworth, who is also Gretna's director of football, avoided the axe when administrators Wilson Field made 22 players and several staff redundant on Wednesday.

But he is considering his exit from the bottom-placed Scottish Premier League club and has spent time in England this week looking at potential job opportunities.

The former Carlisle and Huddersfield manager was linked with a post in Canada earlier in the year but now appears likely to return to the English game.

Gretna will be relegated from the SPL if they lose to the Buddies at Love Street.

Wadsworth told the Daily Record: "The reason I am away from the club just now is because I am looking at something for next season.

"I don't think I will be back for Saturday's game but I will be back after that to discuss things with the administrators.

"The reason I returned to England was because I thought I might be going when things came to a head last week. We now have a skeleton group so what's next?"
