Macclesfield boss Keith Alexander will check on the fitness of striker Martin Gritton ahead of the visit of Accrington Stanley on Saturday.Gritton has been struggling recently with hamstring problems but the Silkmen are otherwise in rude health as they seek to build on their recent impressive form.

Alexander has guided the club to three wins in their last four games and saw his men beat Barnet 3-0 at home on Easter Monday.

The former Lincoln boss came to Moss Rose for the last 12 games of the season and has put the Silkmen eight points clear of the drop zone.

He said: "We know that if we can get another good result against Accrington on Saturday we will put a lot of pressure on the teams below us."
