Scunthorpe boss Nigel Adkins will be without playmaker Jack Cork for Saturday's crucial Walkers Stadium clash with fellow strugglers Leicester. The 18-year-old, who is on a season-long loan at Glanford Park from Chelsea, was shown a straight red card in the 2-1 defeat to Ipswich last Saturday after an off-the-ball incident with Paulo Counago and serves the first game of a three-match ban against the Foxes.
Martin Paterson and Jack Hobbs have been suffering from illness but trained on Thursday and Adkins is hopeful the pair will recover in time to be included in his squad.
Jim Goodwin and Ian Morris have not trained all week after picking up slight niggles but both are expected to be named in the matchday 16, with Kevan
Hurst also pushing for a place after scoring twice for the reserves in midweek.
Cliff Byrne could also be available should he get the all-clear from a specialist following his long-term ankle injury.
