Jones set for second Alex bow

Fri 28 Mar, 06:00 PM

Crewe first-team coach Steve Holland is expected to hand a second debut to Steve Jones at fellow League One strugglers Luton on Saturday.Forward Jones, who spent five years with The Alex, has arrived on loan until the end of the season from Burnley and could go straight into the starting line-up.

However, the Railwaymen are certain to be without Dean Morgan, on loan from the Hatters, who is ineligible to face his parent club.

Neil Cox (shoulder) and Ben Rix (hip) are again ruled out, while Billy Jones remains sidelined with a knee problem.

Shaun Miller will hope for a recall to the bench following his recovery from an ankle problem, while Steven Schumacher could earn a midfield berth after coming on as a late substitute.

Crewe have picked up seven points from their last three games to move them five points clear of the relegation zone.
