Wolves boss Mick McCarthy has revealed why he stopped Freddy Eastwood's proposed move to Midlands rivals Coventry going ahead on Thursday. The striker was due to team up with the Sky Blues on his return from international duty with Wales in midweek, but McCarthy halted the switch saying it was in Wanderers' best interests for him to remain at the club.
He told Wolves' official website: "It nearly happened, but I changed my mind which is my prerogative. I'm entitled to do that. It was my decision not to let him go.
"It's all about us and what is good for the club.
"There's not a problem between him and me, I just decided the best course of action was to keep him."
