Jamie McCombe returns to Bristol City's squad for Saturday's Ashton Gate clash with Norwich, but Lee Johnson is doubtful with an ankle injury.McCombe has missed the last three matches with a hip problem but is fit again, while Johnson's chances of being involved are rated at 50/50.

The midfielder missed the back-to-back 2-1 defeats against Plymouth Argyle and Cardiff with the ankle injury that forced him off at half-time in the televised clash with Watford earlier this month.

Gary Johnson has hinted he could hand Steve Brooker his first City start for almost a year as he looks to reignite the misfiring Robins' promotion charge.

Brooker, who has not started a game for City since April 4 following two knee operations, was recalled from a loan spell at Cheltenham last week after scoring five goals in six matches for the League One side and made his Championship debut for the club at Ninian Park.

Johnson is desperately seeking a winning formula following a sequence of five games without a victory, during which City have managed only three goals.
