Twice world snooker champion Ronnie O'Sullivan's lewd comments and bad language at the China Open have gone unnoticed by the local media - though they are going to land him in hot water back home.
The sport's governing body - the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association - are reviewing the video of the news conference that took place after O'Sullivan's defeat in the first round of the tournament.
That showed O'Sullivan gesturing towards a microphone in his lap and making a series of lewd suggestions as he complained about the length of questions in Chinese and translations into English.
Most of his comments, scattered with swear words, were intended as asides to a man sat next to him on the platform as he restlessly looked around.
"At the post game press conference, O'Sullivan kept his gentlemanly manners," said a report in the Today Morning Express, while the Beijing News reported that the Briton had shown no signs of disappointment and was "smiling and looking around".
O'Sullivan had lost 5-4 to Hong Kong's Marco Fu.
Snooker is looking to the world's most populous country to help it break out of its traditional British heartland, partly on the back of the rise of Ding Junhui.
Ding, a winner of the China Open in 2005, departed in the second round of this year's tournament after a 5-4 defeat to Shaun Murphy.
