Premier League - Rosicky keeps the faith

Arsenal midfielder Tomas Rosicky believes the Gunners can still win the Premier League title, despite a recent run of poor form which culminated in defeat to Chelsea on Sunday.

"It is a big pity as five or six weeks ago we were top of the table with a five-point lead. But the lads have not won any of last five games," he said.

"It is not over though. There are still seven games to be played. Manchester United travel to Chelsea, we travel to Manchester United - and if we win there, we are back. We must be ready for United's hesitation. It is still open, but we are not holding the steering wheel now."

The Czech Republic international, who is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury, drew on his experience playing in the Bundesliga.

"When we won the league with Borussia Dortmund, we were five points behind with three rounds to go. Everything can change quickly," he said.

Rosicky was on the receiving end of such a turnaround last season, when Arsenal capitulated from a position of authority to end the season empty-handed.

"Last season we were participating in four competitions and then, in quick succession, we were knocked out of the FA Cup, lost the Carling Cup final, were eliminated from the Champions League. Within 10 days you can lose everything. Or win everything."

The 27-year-old hopes to return to action for Arsene Wenger's team in early April, but remains troubled by the injury which saw him limp off during Arsenal's clash with Newcastle United in January.

"The ligament won't move, it's stuck," he said. "And if something in your body does not move, it burdens the other parts.

"I simply cannot use full force. With previous injuries, the doctors have never been absolutely sure, but this time they knew immediately what it was - and I knew it was bad. They've looked after me perfectly."
