Group 9 - Holland v Scotland (19:45)

Several Premier League stars are in contention to play in Amsterdam, including Dirk Kuyt, Robin van Persie and Ryan Babel. Real Madrid trio Klaas Jan Huntelaar, Rafael van der Vaart and Arjen Robben are all expected to play some part while Maarten Stekelenburg is expected to start in goal for the Dutch after Edwin van der Sar's refusal to come out of international retirement.

Scotland boss George Burley has to contend with a host of injuries ahead of the trip to Amsterdam. Alan Hutton, Stephen McManus, David Weir, Kirk Broadfoot, Paul Hartley, Kevin Thomson, Barry Robson, Shaun Maloney, Kris Commons James McFadden and Lee Miller are all out injured, so Burley is expected to hand Cristophe Berra a debut in defence alongside Gary Caldwell. Meanwhile Allan McGregor will start in goal ahead of Craig Gordon and Barry Ferguson is expected to be fit enough to skipper the side.

  5. It's a shame we have so many injuries for this game, as a full strength team would have been more than a match for the Dutch. I still believe we can get a result over in Holland though. It's time for the lads on the fringes of the team to get a shot playing for their country. While it's not under the best circumstances to give them caps today, I think whoever Burley picks will come in and do well. 1-0 Scotland.

'Mon the Scotland! Do us proud!

  15. pegz ear, stop sticking up for players who dont want to play because they dont like the manager, they're playing for Scotland not for Burley, i would never play boyd ever again, never, that's one of the reasons we're as bad as we are, we have put up with this for years and encouraged future generations to act as if they're bigger than their country, they're not, and it's time we let them know.

  19. Im an England fan and I can honestly say that the scots have the passion and will to be good. There is plenty of raw talent in scotland in the youth teams, but they need to be clever enough to nurture it. I miss the England v Scotland battles of the past

  20. 'Injuries' - cos naebody wants to play fur curly-burley. he's shown himself to be a 'shortie tin' manager - the guy is pure mince! Scotland needs someone with gumption - and a Capello-like strength to play good players, not the typical old-boys act. He can't even get the best from who he picks, unlike Smith and McLeish.

Plus, there is no reason why Scotland cannot be consistently at Englands's level - like no.4 - we need academies and get rid of the narrow-mindedness that characterises SFA
