Ian Holloway thinks that Southampton's tricky run-in means it is not inconceivable that City may already have enough points to secure survival. The Foxes suffered a devastating defeat at home to relegation rivals Sheffield Wednesday at the weekend, leaving them in danger of the drop when they travel to title chasing Stoke for the final game of the season on Sunday.
Southampton, the team below Leicester in the bottom three, face West Brom, who can seal promotion with a win on Monday evening, and play-off chasing Sheffield United on the final day of the campaign.
Holloway believes Saints could lose both of those matches, leaving them unable to usurp City.
"If Southampton win both their remaining games, they will probably stay up and we won't. But will they?" said Holloway.
"What I am saying is because we are a point in front of Southampton, we might be safe with no points. We might not even have to get a point at Stoke."
