Howard named in Team of the Year

Barnsley skipper Brian Howard has been named in the PFA's Championship Team of the Year.The 25-year-old has been outstanding in the Tykes' midfield this season and was the inspiration behind their FA Cup giantkilling run.

Howard, captured on a free transfer from Swindon in June 2005, scored the last-minute winner against Liverpool at Anfield and was also an influential figure when Barnsley followed up that win with the defeat of Chelsea in the quarter-finals.

Meanwhile, central defender Stephen Foster has scooped both the Barnsley Supporters' Player of the Year and Disabled Supporters' Player of the Year Awards.

Michael Coulson was named the club's Young Player of the Year and Jamil Adam the Academy's Player of the Year.
