Motherwell midfielder Keith Lasley cursed the Fir Park pitch after missing a great opportunity towards the end of the draw with Dundee United.Lasley had a glorious chance to win the crucial SPL clash when he sliced wide after being set up by David Clarkson.
Lee Wilkie had only just equalised for United to cancel out Chris Porter's second goal, which came after a Stephen Craigan own goal.
"It was a good opportunity," Lasley said. "I had my mind set on striking the ball across the keeper. It has come off the side of my foot and gone wide.
"It felt like it skipped up - you are going to get that on that pitch. You have just got to get on with it.
"But saying that, it was still a good chance and I'm disappointed with it. If that goes in it's game over.
"In shooting practice on Monday morning, I'll be first in the queue."
Motherwell did, however, retain third place after nine-man Hibernian lost 2-1 at Aberdeen.
