Southampton manager Nigel Pearson has urged his side to put a traumatic season behind them and concentrate on avoiding the drop to League One.Saints slipped into the relegation zone over the weekend and need victories from their final two games to ensure their survival in the Championship.

"What's already gone on we can't change," said Pearson.

"It would be unprofessional to think about what's gone at this stage because it's still in our own hands.

"It's not an easy situation for anybody involved. I spoke to some fans the other night and it's very difficult for them.

"Our responsibility is to go out and get the performances right but more importantly get the results right."
