Warnock hails Eagles turnaround

Mon 28 Apr, 06:15 PM

Neil Warnock admits the turnaround at Crystal Palace this season has been remarkable as they take the play-off race down to the wire. The Eagles were second from bottom shortly after Warnock took over at Selhurst Park and the former Sheffield United manager was fully expecting to be in a relegation battle at this stage, rather than in the promotion mix.

A victory at home to Burnley next Sunday will secure Palace's play-off place but Warnock insists his side deserve great credit even if they were to miss out on the top six.

"I thought we would be playing someone down the bottom trying to stay in the division," said Warnock.

"So it's a great achievement - and we are not finished yet. There's life in the old legs yet, and the young legs.

"If we don't get into the play-offs we can't complain - we've had a great shot at it and taken it down to the last game."
