Zoltan Gera has revealed that he hopes to stay in England once his contract expires this summer.

The West Brom midfielder's current deal is due to run out at the end of the season, and he admits that he has already received enquires into his availability.

The Hungarian has been with the Baggies for four years and has established himself as a firm fans' favourite during his time at the Hawthorns.

However, having proven himself to be a more than capable playmaker in both the Premier League and the Championship he may decide to end his association with the Midlands club during the close season.

He insists that his intention is to remain in this country, but has not ruled out the possibility of moving abroad should a suitable offer come along.

"I wanted to leave WBA a couple of times, I didn't make a secret of it and now it seems that I will have the possibility," Gera told Nemzeti Sport.

"My contract expires soon, there are some interested teams but I don't want to focus on it at the moment.

"I like this country, I like the football and I also enjoy the life here.

"My first target remains to stay in England, but in case of an irresistible offer (from abroad)] I'd think it over. Of course, this team should have a good name."

Gera has not completely dismissed the possibility of agreeing a new deal at West Brom, and accepts that the club's style of play suits his game better than most of their Championship rivals.

With the Baggies also on the verge of securing promotion back into the Premier League, Gera has revealed that manager Tony Mowbray has been doing all he can to persuade him to stay.

"There are lots of games in the Championship and the speed is very high here," he said.

"Unfortunately it is not the tricks or dribbles that dominate, but the struggle and fight.

"Teams practice free kicks and corners, most teams have a lonely 'tank-like' and powerful striker and usually he gets long crosses from deep.

"But if a team like this win promotion then they may become an easy opponent for the others.

"I'm happy that West Brom play attractive football, and (I'm also happy because) our manager wants to make me stay by emphasizing the style of the team.

"He said this is the style that fits me and I that I can be a success here."
